Xiaolinglong Wang

Voice & Piano

Xiao Linglong Wang is a distinguished coloratura soprano from China. She earned her master's degree from Longy School of Music of Bard College, where she studied under Karyl Ryczek. Xiao's vocal talent has been recognized through numerous accolades, including a gold medal in the vocal aria group at the Vienna Golden Hall Invitational Competition in 2022, and multiple gold and silver medals in major Chinese competitions.

Her performance career began to flourish in 2019 when she participated in the Universal Artists Festival at New England Conservatory, earning an Honorable Mention Award. In 2021, she portrayed Micaela in the opera "Carmen" in China, and in 2024, she performed as Water in the Boston Opera Project's "A Little Prince."

During her undergraduate studies at Hainan University (2018-2022), Xiao was active on stage and earned recognition as an "Outstanding Choir Member" in the university's "Deep Sea Choir." She also dedicated four years to the "Volunteer Teaching Program," teaching vocal music, piano, and conducting in remote villages, which she considers a significant part of her life. Her academic achievements include the "Outstanding Teaching" award in the "Golden Seed" art teaching activity and the "Gold Award" in the Bel Canto category at the Macau International Art Open Competition.

In 2024, Xiao successfully held her Master's Graduation recital, "Echo of Prayer," at Boston's Pickman Hall. She has been admitted to the DMA program in Music Performance at the University of North Texas, where she received an academic scholarship. Her mentor, Karyl Ryczek, has praised Xiao for her energetic and elfin voice, exceptional acting ability, and rigorous musical discipline, qualities that promise a bright future in her musical career.
