Meige Yang

Meige Yang is a flutist and educator currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of North Texas, where she also serves as a Teaching Fellow. She began her musical training at the Central Conservatory of Music Affiliated Middle School and later earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the China Conservatory of Music. During her graduate studies, she worked as a teaching assistant and received the top scholarship and the title of Outstanding Graduate.

She has won numerous awards in international flute competitions, including:
• 2014: Second Prize (Solo) and First Prize (Ensemble), Nanning International Flute Competition
• 2017: First Prize, Singapore International Flute Festival (Professional Category)
• 2019: Second Prize, China Conservatory of Music Concerto Competition
• 2022: First Prize, Jean Sibelius International Music Competition (Flute Division)
• 2024: First Prize (Performer Category), 3rd International Flute Festival & Competition (Seoul, South Korea) – $3,000 prize
